Welcome!

shaun profile SmallWelcome to ChristianEducation.org.nz.  Here you will find my scattered thoughts in three areas of my passions, Christian Education, Learning with Technologies and Leadership.  I have been involved in Education for a little over 15 years and am very passionate about it.  I am the principal of Hamilton Christian School in New Zealand and although some of the content of this website will be specific to education in New Zealand there will be many principles which are generic to Christian Education across the world.

If you would like to contribute to this website or share some resources please feel free to email me.

By no means do I expect everyone to agree with all I write, nor that the resources that I place on this website will be the best ever seen but I remember what it was like when I first started as a principal.  There was nowhere I could go to access the important documents at that time-this is my attempt to address that.  Somewhere to get some documents which you can develop into something amazing!

Enjoy and please post feedback on articles and resources.

Blessings,
Shaun

  • Hacking at Trees with Chainsaws explores the most fundamental flaws with devices in education.  Flaws that ultimately could end up jeopardising the use of devices in education.  This book has three objectives: 1. To explore what is now possible in education because of new tools 2. To draw attention to the risk of implementing an education programme without consideration of how the tools can be used 3. To provide some frameworks help teachers, school leaders and district supervisors integrate devices in a meaningfully way that will add value to learning.   With devices in education it is not what you have that counts, it is how you use I.T. that counts.
